Mimbo was created to support pets, strays, and the people who care for them. These Community Guidelines
explain
how we expect everyone to behave on the App, including in Pawstagram, the
Rescue Center,
and Chats.
By using Mimbo, you agree to follow these Guidelines in addition to our
Terms of Use and
Privacy Policy.
1.Our Mission
Mimbo is a positive, supportive space for:
- Helping pets and strays in need
- Connecting with responsible pet owners and animal lovers
- Sharing useful, kind, and respectful content
- Encouraging ethical and humane treatment of animals
2.Be Kind & Respectful
Treat others the way you would want to be treated. This applies to posts, comments, rescue cases, and
chats.
Do:
- Be polite and supportive
- Use respectful language
- Assume good intentions when possible
Do NOT:
- Insult, shame, or harass others
- Use hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language
- Threaten, bully, or encourage violence
3.Pawstagram Content Rules
Pawstagram is for sharing photos of pets and animals in a fun, safe way.
Allowed:
- Photos of your pets or animals you are helping
- Positive stories, cute moments, and educational content
Not allowed:
- Graphic violence or animal cruelty (even to “raise awareness”)
- Content that encourages harm or neglect of animals
- Sexual or inappropriate content involving people or animals
- Advertising the sale, trade, or breeding of animals
- Stolen images or content you do not have the right to share
4.Rescue Center Guidelines
The Rescue Center is a sensitive space. People may decide to help based on the information you share.
For this reason:
When posting a case, you must:
- Share accurate and honest information
- Use recent photos of the animal
- Provide a correct location and contact details (if you choose to display them)
- Update or close the case if the situation changes (for example, if the animal is adopted or found)
You must NOT:
- Post fake or exaggerated rescue cases
- Use the Rescue Center for fundraising unrelated to animal welfare
- Use another person’s name or contact without permission
- Share private information about someone else without their consent
5.Chat & Direct Messages
Chat is designed to coordinate help, share advice, and connect around pet-related topics.
Do:
- Use chat to coordinate rescues, adoptions, or donations
- Be clear and respectful in your messages
- Block and report users who behave inappropriately
Do NOT:
- Send abusive, threatening, or sexual messages
- Spam others with unwanted messages or promotions
- Ask for or share sensitive personal information unnecessarily
- Use chat for dating, harassment, or unrelated advertising
If someone makes you feel unsafe, you can block and report them directly from the chat.
Chats can be hidden from your inbox, but not deleted one by one from within the chat feature. If you
delete your account, chats and chat media associated with that account are also deleted, subject to
limited retention of reported or moderation-related records for safety, abuse prevention, rule
enforcement, or legal compliance.
6.Safety for Pets & People
Mimbo should never be used in ways that put animals or people at risk.
- Do not encourage dangerous treatment or handling of animals
- Do not share instructions to harm or neglect pets or strays
- Do not organize illegal activities through the App
- Always follow local laws and regulations regarding animal welfare
If you see a situation where an animal is in immediate danger, contact local authorities or a trusted
NGO
in addition to posting on Mimbo.
7.What You Can Report
You can report content that appears:
- Abusive, harassing, or threatening
- Encouraging harm to animals or people
- Fake, misleading, or clearly incorrect (especially rescue cases)
- Spam or irrelevant advertising
- Sexual, extremely graphic, or otherwise inappropriate
You can report:
- Rescue Center posts
- Comments on Rescue Center posts
- Pawstagram posts
- Comments on Pawstagram posts
- Chat messages and conversations
- Profiles involved in repeated harmful behavior
Our moderation team may review the reported content and, when necessary, take action.
8.What Happens When We Take Action
If content or behavior violates these Guidelines, we may:
- Remove or hide the content
- Issue a warning to the user
- Permanently delete the account
Serious violations—especially involving abuse, threats, or illegal activity—will lead to permanent
removal.
9.Legal & Emergency Disclaimer
Mimbo is a tool to help connect people around animal welfare, but it does not replace:
- Emergency services
- Veterinary care
- Local authorities or official NGOs
Always contact appropriate emergency or veterinary services if an animal is in immediate danger.
10.Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as Mimbo grows and new features are added.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
